Dog Sees God
Drugs, Sex and Charlie Brown?
Trustus Theatre opens its 23rd season with the adult eyes only "Dog Sees God"
40 years ago, in 1967 Charles M. Schulz's beloved "Peanuts" characters were brought to life in the airy and melodic musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown." Nearly four decades later, the "unauthorized parody" of Charlie Brown and friends shows a darker, funnier, and more human side of the Peanuts gang.
Written by Bert V. Royal, Dog Sees God first hit the stage in 2004 at the New York Fringe Festival and went on to win several awards, including the 2004 New York Fringe Festival Overall Excellence Award and the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding off-off Broadway Production.
The cast includes an array of young hot Columbia bodies that mix and mingle with the electric pop soundtrack. Young director Chad Henderson is taking chances and making changes with Trustus' season opener.
