WHAT'S LOVE?

What started as an alternative for singles and couples who didn’t want the traditional Valentine’s night out has become a major annual event that merges visual and performing arts, with themes that challenge ideas about sex, romance, intimacy and love.

What’s Love has attracted one thousand attendees and while it’s become one of the city’s most talked about parties, it is, foremost, a major exhibition opportunity for South Carolina artists.

This year What's Love teams up with Trustus Theatre to present:

The Henderson Brother’s Burlesque - a sexy, bawdy night of live music, dance and song that will stir up whatever strikes your fancy ass! Chad Henderson directs and Terrance Henderson choreographs a cast of 20 + including live band with brass, a male pole dancer, costumes, feathers and frivolity.

In The Side Show Lounge guests can have cocktails before the show and be entertained by a cast of characters with magic, card readings and other things to tantalize.

Chef Kristian Niemi will serve two private seatings for 24 of a delicious four course Valentine’s dinner with wine in his loft upstairs.

Also upstairs, a Peep Show produced by Wade Sellers for those voyeurs in the crowd.

For those ready to start the evening with a comic edge, Larry Hembree will be hosting a speed dating session as one of his most interesting characters, Loreen DeMint, from the Upstate of SC.

What's Love 2013 is a showcase for local artists and talent. The performing and managing artists are paid. Proceeds from What’s Love go to Trustus Theatre this year.
